Bigelow Tea Review: The Brand Sold Everywhere

Bigelow Tea

It’s one of the most commonplace brands in the United States. You’ll find it in grocery stores, service stations and even in restaurants. So what’s the big deal about Bigelow tea? Is it worth the hype? Here’s what you need to know about Bigelow tea, the blends, and where you can buy it.

Who are Bigelow Tea?

Back in the 1940s, there was a woman named Ruth Bigelow who loved to brew tea. She played with extracts and blends, and served those blends to friends.

One day, she stumbled upon a winner. A black tea infused with orange rinds and a few spices was a favorite among her friends. She named the tea “Constant Comment,” and a brand was born.

Miss Bigelow sold her tea. At first, in small batches. Then, her tea empire grew and today the company generates $90 million in revenue each year. Constant Comment was, in no uncertain terms, a success.

Constant Comment is far from the only Bigelow brand available. Bigelow tea is still family owned, but they now have dozens of teas on the shelves. From pomegranate and pumpkin to decaf and greens, you’ll probably find the Bigelow tea you’re looking for.

What Does Bigelow Tea Offer?

There are quite a few companies that offer fair trade, organic or kosher teas. Bigelow offers these, as well, but you’ll need to know what you’re shopping for.

The Bigelow tea packaging, of course, is the easiest way to find out whether your tea is kosher, for example. But a visit to the company website will give you more information.

As an example, Bigelow tea offers 15 organic blends. These include teas like hibiscus, dandelion peach, oolong jasmine and earl grey. However, there are only two teas listed as fair trade. Those are the English breakfast and the Novus Organic South Indian Select.

If fair trade, kosher or other attributes are important to you, be sure to check the website first.

For everyone else, just take a trip to the store. You’ll find quite a few interesting flavors, including vanilla caramel and cranberry hibiscus.

Bigelow Tea Reviews: What Others are Saying

Bigelow Tea Review
As far as tea goes, Bigelow has something for everyone. The teas are priced to fit in most everyone’s budget. There are a vast variety of flavors available, and everyone can find something they love. And the teas are commonly sold in big box stores like Walmart and Target, so they’re easy to find.

Generally speaking, Bigelow teas get pretty good reviews. It would seem as if the people who drink these teas know they’re not buying into a luxury brand. That said, the teas are flavorful and strong enough so they’re not pegged as “flavored water” like some other brands.

Of course, there are herbal blends which are supposed to serve a purpose. The Cozy Chamomile, as one example, is supposed to relax. Reviews were on both sides of the fence as to whether it actually worked.

That said, if you’re looking for an affordable tea you won’t be embarrassed to serve to friends, Bigelow tea offers a huge range of selection to you. Order a sampler pack from Amazon and choose the one you like best.
